BIRTHDAY LIKE A CARNIVAL AS AJIFAT MARKS 100 DAYS IN OFFICE

Leadership is not about the next election but about the next generation. Ifelodun first, Ifelodun always” Hon. Shuaib Fatai Ajidagba {Ajifat}.

“I love Ifelodun and I am interested in her prosperity. I entered into politics not to lead but to serve. Service is my motivation for leadership” Hon. Shuaib Fatai Ajidagba {Ajifat}.

As early as 8:00am this morning, all public school teachers in Ifelodun LCDA and its environs, led by the Education Secretary AJIF, Hon. Aboluwodi Solomon, rolled out drums with magical songs of encomium to celebrate the man with the midas touch. The tempo increase when the rave of the moment walked and danced them. According to one female head teacher, “Ajifat is a tremendous blessing to teachers and pupils in Ifelodun. His type is rare.”

As he majestically walked to the Council Secretariat like a colossus, the common people happily hailed and prayed for him. Just like one attendee rightly said, “Ajifat has touched the lives of the less privileged just within 100 Days in office.” At the council, it was a colourful celebration, as almost all the departments presented beautiful cakes and felicitated with him. In their speech, they unanimously agreed that Ajifat is wise, rugged, dogged and visionary.

POLITICAL BIG NAMES LAUDS AJIFAT

Around 2:00pm yesterday, the 13th day of December, the good people of Ifelodun, friends, families, council staff, political luminaries, key players from Ifelodun and Ajeromi, and other dignitaries gathered at the Chairman’s residence to celebrate him. Among them was Hon. {Comrade} Olu Ogubanjo, an erstwhile Member of House of Representative, who in his remark said, “Ajifat is among the few leaders who remembered their leaders when they are still alive. Within 100 Days in office, he has done what no council chairman has ever done in the history of Nigeria by erecting the first Legislative Complex.” He further prayed that God will grant him good health and more wisdom.”

Hon. Kolawale Taiwo {HKT}, the former Deputy Speaker, Lagos House of Assembly in his words said, “Ajifat shared the vision of the massive Legislative Complex with us, today he has lived up to his words and promises. He is indeed a man to trust.”

At the resumption of office, Ajifat pleaded with the leaders to not expect much from him in terms of welfare. The massive Legislative Complex is a product of that decision. We are happy for it.”

The first Executive Chairman Ifelodun LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Adenika, and his then vice, Hon. Wahab Adigun, concurrently were of the view that, “Ifelodun LCDA started on a very solid and firm foundation, Ajifat as a great leader is leveraging on. He is an excellent performer.

Hon. Ladi Balogun, a former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun {constituency 2} philosophied that, “Ajifat is not just embarking on projects like others, but on legacy projects. The new Legislative Complex built by Ajifat is not just the first of its kind in Nigeria but in the whole of West Africa.” The Executive Chairman, Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, Hon. Fatai Ayoola Ebie, in his words opined that “Ajifat is not just a performer but also a prayer warrior and a lover of God.”

Other Speakers at the August event are: The LGA, APC Party Chairman in person of Baba Kuti, Hon. Dayo Famakinwa-member Lagos House of Assembly, Leader 4th Legislative Council Ifelodun LCDA, Hon. Saladeen Fatimah, Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu, Former Chairman, Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, Hon. Nkem Igwe, Vice-Chairman Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, Alhaja Morili Arogundade and other personalities too numerous to mention.

THE MAN IN THE MIRROR

Hon. Shuaib Fatai Orombo Ajidagba, fondly called Ajifat laid the foundation of the much celebrated Legislative Complex on Saturday, 23rd September, 2017, which has now become the talk of the town. Just within two months and two weeks, it is amazing that the complex is already awaiting commissioning. The super duper Legislative Complex which is a microcosm of the macrocosm of the Lagos State House of Assembly is the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria, built by the council chairman.

Apart from the Complex, Ajifat has distributed 200, 000 free customized exercise books, 60, 000 biros, 30, 000 and 2, 000 chairs and benches to public schools in Ifelodun and some part of Ajeromi. Distributed thousands of treated mosquito nets to the residents, most especially, those living near the canal. Changed the office of the chairman and vice office with modern furniture, commissioned Electricity and Water at Folashade Ojo-Tinubu ultra modern market to mention but a few.

President John F. Kennedy in his words said, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Like President Kennedy, Ajifat is not seeking for what Ifelodun can do for him, but rather, what he can do to add value to Ifelodun. To him, Ifelodun first, Ifelodun always.

Borrowing a word from one of the Speakers, Ajifat should start warming up for House of Representatives.

Long live Ishola!
